Rose City Park Basement Remodel

Originally this was an unfinished basement with cement floors, suitable only for basic storage and laundry. The owners of this home hired Catalyst to build out a one bedroom, one bathroom finished basement that also included a living room, and remodeled laundry area.

A small exterior addition was completed to allow adjustment to the basement stairs so newly created finished space would meet city codes. This included a brand-new back entry into the home and improvements to the existing mudroom.Attention to detail was maintained to match the era of the existing home. The new staircase to the basement was accented with Oak hardwood and painted handrail. Also included to the main floor kitchen space were new Oak hardwood floors and new pullout pantry space.

A few the amenities to mention in this new basement remodel are recessed lighting, tiled walk-in shower in new bathroom with quartz accents and frame less glass shower enclosure. Inside the laundry room Catalyst created a brewing station for the client complete with new tiled floors and relocated floor drain. To complement the brewing station, we added wall mounted dispensing tap handles in the living room area.

Outside the new bedroom is a computer station or office area perfect for a student or at home office. Throughout the basement Catalyst installed all new high efficiency windows including an egress window in the bedroom to meet the standards of the City of Portland.
